Karito Japan is the trade name under which two independent entities operate, dedicated to curating, importing and retailing authentic Japanese stationery. Each one is the seller for orders to its own list of countries and is responsible for them:

When these terms say "the seller," they refer to the entity that corresponds to your order's destination country according to this section.

Accessing, browsing and purchasing on karitojapan.com implies full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree with any of these conditions, please don't use the site.

Orders shipped to Venezuela are governed by Venezuelan e-commerce and consumer protection law. Orders shipped from Japan are governed by Japanese law, including the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (特定商取引法), as well as any mandatory consumer rules of the destination country.

These terms are complemented by our Shipping Policy, our Return Policy, our Privacy Policy, the 特定商取引法に基づく表記 and our FAQ, which form an integral part of this document.

Karito Japan runs on two separate inventories and two separate shipping points, and each one sells and ships only to its own list of countries:

• The Venezuela branch sells and ships only within Venezuela.
• The Japan headquarters sells and ships only to Japan, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile.

We don't combine products from the two inventories in a single order or forward merchandise from one operation to the other. Rates, timelines, payment methods and the applicable customs regime depend on the operation that corresponds to your country.

All products offered are authentic brand originals, purchased directly from stores in Japan. Photos are for reference: manufacturer packaging may vary slightly between batches without affecting the product's authenticity or quality.

Inventory is limited by nature (periodic imports every 3–4 months). A product shown on the site may sell out before a purchase is completed; in that case, section 07 applies.

Prices are expressed in United States dollars (USD) as the currency of account. In Venezuela, payments in bolívares are calculated at the official Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) rate in effect on the day of payment. In international markets, checkout shows and charges the price in the currency set for your country.

Prices may change without notice; the price that applies to each purchase is the one in effect when the order is created. Prices don't include shipping, which is shown separately at checkout based on the destination zone, or the import duties and taxes of the destination country (section 08).

Checkout offers two kinds of payment: electronic payments, which are approved instantly, and manual payments, which require us to verify receipt of funds before shipping.

Orders within Venezuela. Paid with the manual methods listed at checkout: currently Pago Móvil, bank transfer and Wise. No order is processed or shipped until the funds are confirmed in the receiving account.

• The customer must send proof of payment with their order number to ventas@karitojapan.com or via WhatsApp.
• Orders paid via Pago Móvil ship 24–48 hours after verification, as a safeguard against reversals.
• Overpayments: 100% of the excess is refunded or applied as credit, at the customer's choice. Underpayments: the order is put on hold until the balance is paid.
• Orders without verified payment within 48 hours may be canceled and their inventory released.

International orders. Paid with the electronic methods enabled at checkout, with automatic approval and no proof of payment needed.

We also accept Wise, available to customers in any country. Since it's a manual method, the order doesn't ship until the funds are confirmed, and you must send us proof of payment with your order number to supply@karitojapan.com. The 48-hour deadline also applies.

The methods marked at checkout as "Venezuela only" — Pago Móvil and bank transfer — are not available for orders shipping outside Venezuela.

The automatic order-created email is an acknowledgment of receipt, not final acceptance. The sales contract is completed upon payment confirmation. If a product turns out to be sold out after payment, we'll offer the customer an exchange for another product or a full refund of the amount paid for that item, at their choice.

Shipments within Venezuela are sent by courier (MRW, Zoom) from San Diego, Carabobo. International orders ship from Tokyo, Japan, via Japan Post. Full details are in the Shipping Policy.

Import duties, taxes and fees of the destination country are not included in the product price or the shipping cost. They are collected by the destination country's customs at the time of delivery and are paid by the buyer. This applies to the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile. Orders within Japan and within Venezuela don't cross customs and don't pay duties.

Sales shipped from Japan to other countries are exports and, as such, their price does not include Japanese consumption tax (消費税).

We always declare the actual contents and value of every shipment, in accordance with Japanese customs law and that of the destination country. We don't mark orders as "gifts" or declare values lower than what was paid.

Delivery times are estimates and depend on postal operators and customs; they are not a contractual guarantee. Time a package spends held in customs is not counted within those estimates.

Our Return Policy applies: 7 business days from receipt to request an exchange, with the product unused and packaging intact. Verified manufacturing defects are replaced at no additional cost to the customer.

For international orders, return shipping and any duties resulting from re-import are paid by the customer, except in cases of verified manufacturing defects.

The Karito Japan brand, its logo, the site's visual identity, original photography, texts and content curation are the property of the entities listed in section 01 or are used with their authorization. Reproduction for commercial purposes without written consent is prohibited. Manufacturer brands (Pilot, Pentel, uni Mitsubishi, Kokuyo, mt Kamoi, Zebra, Sakura, among others) belong to their respective owners and are mentioned only to identify the original products we sell.

The data you provide (name, contact details, delivery address) is used to process orders, coordinate deliveries, meet customs requirements for international shipments and — only with your consent — send you marketing communications, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

We don't sell or hand over personal data to third parties outside the operation. Full details — what we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights — are in our Privacy Policy.

The seller that corresponds according to section 01 is responsible for the authenticity of the products and for fulfilling its shipping obligations. It is not liable for delays, loss or damage attributable to courier or postal operators once the package has been handed to the courier or post office, without prejudice to the active support with claims described in the Shipping Policy, nor for delays caused by force majeure, including unforeseen customs or regulatory measures.

Nor is it liable for packages returned to sender because they were not claimed at the destination country's customs, or for incomplete or incorrect addresses provided by the customer.

Orders shipped to Venezuela, sold by INVERSIONES KINTSUGI, C.A., are governed by the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Orders shipped from Japan — to Japan, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile — are governed by the laws of Japan, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the buyer's country of residence.

We will try to resolve any dispute amicably through our customer service channels before turning to the competent authorities.

Karito Japan may modify these Terms & Conditions at any time; the version published on the site at the time of each purchase is the one that applies to that transaction.
